“Care and Quality are internal and external aspects of the same thing. A person who sees Quality and feels it as he works is a person who cares. A person who cares about what he sees and does is a person who’s bound to have some characteristic of quality.” — Robert M. Pirsig, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
The purpose of this site is to search for what it means to live a good life and then chase it relentlessly.
My goal is to learn as much as I can, while simultaneously sharing what I learn with readers. Pulling from thinkers from a wide range of disciplines; Philosophy, Psychology, Poetry, Literature, Music, Comedy, and Self Development, my goal is to find the universal truths behind these great minds and share them.
With the advent of the Internet, the gatekeepers of knowledge are slowly becoming obsolete and education seems to be evolving rapidly. I believe that this is a double-edged sword. On one hand, knowledge is freely available to anyone. On the other hand, there's so much information that it seems easy to lose our bearings and fall for philosophies that don't serve us.
Choosing what principles to live by, I believe, is the true purpose of education and that is now in the hands of the individual.
So, if you're searching for what it means to live a good life, then you've come to the right place.
My name is Liam. I studied Writing and Literature at UC San Diego and now live in Sacramento, California where I work as a Web Producer and Writer at CBS Sacramento.
I believe that wisdom is far more valuable than intelligence, courage is more important than strength, and a bit of humor never hurt nobody.
